Looking Ahead:

Congratulations, Wildcats!  The Fraser Institute released its 2012 school report card this week, based on 2011 EQAO results.  Gainsborough students were tied in first place with Woodland School out of 70 DSBN elementary schools, and we ranked 25th out of 2,689 schools across the province!  Kudos to our students for their great efforts and to our dedicated staff who have worked tirelessly to help our students develop the skills required for success.

Gainsborough Library - short cut

Welcome to Gainsborough Public School!

The team at Gainsborough Public School is pleased to welcome visitors to our website. We are proud to offer this way for parents, students, staff and the wider school community to learn about the Home of the Wildcats!

Gainsborough Central Public School is located on Hwy #20 in St. Ann’s, Ontario is one of three “mountain” public schools. The school is currently home to 239 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8. Our educational team offers a wide variety of expertise to ensure our students achieve success and enjoy a safe and nurturing learning environment. This educational team is composed of teachers, educational assistants, a youth counsellor, a learning resource teacher, principal, lunch hour supervisors, a custodian and cleaning staff. Through our Parent Council and vibrant volunteer program, parents also play an intergral role as part of the Gainsborough team.

Our staff volunteer their time to organize and/or supervise extra-curricular activities for Gainsborough students. Through sport teams, clubs, field trips and community events we are able to expand learning opportunities for our students beyond the school building.

We look forward to a year of learning and growing together!

Thank you Mr. Dobrucki.
